Anne et Valentin Behind the Lens - The Craft and Creativity of AEV Eyewear

Born in Toulouse, Anne et Valentin began with a simple yet powerful idea: eyewear should reflect the person wearing it. Rather than creating frames that merely serve a functional purpose, the brand’s founders sought to make glasses that revealed personality, encouraged self-expression, and celebrated individuality.

From humble beginnings as a small optician’s venture, Anne et Valentin quickly rose to prominence as one of the most distinctive names in eyewear design. Each pair of glasses is a carefully crafted work of art, combining geometry, colour, and form in a way that is both original and timeless.

In a 2012 interview with Eyelist magazine, Anne Valentin Shared the humble origins of the brand:

“It just happened one day, from a desire to break with boredom… A first collection made as beginners, then another, then another, until beautiful objects appeared: great eyeglasses!”

This spirit of continuous innovation remains at the heart of the brand today. Anne et Valentin frames are instantly recognisable, characterised by bold, architectural lines and vibrant colour palettes. The brand’s signature use of colour - whether it’s the translucent lime green paired with black or the striking ochre and pearly grey - creates eyewear that doesn’t just complement the face but enhances it.

The design philosophy of Anne et Valentin is rooted in a desire to create eyewear that speaks to the wearer’s identity.
As Anne herself put it, “We want to create a collection rich enough for everyone to feel free to express their personality.” The frames are not simply accessories; they are extensions of individuality, crafted to celebrate the wearer’s unique style
and presence.

“What makes Anne et Valentin so popular with our customers is that it offers something truly unique,” says Jas, Parker & Co “The designs are striking yet practical, fun yet refined. It’s a brand that resonates because each frame feels like an extension of your personality.”

This connection to creativity and individuality is why Anne et Valentin continues to captivate eyewear lovers worldwide. The brand is more than just a design house - it’s a way of looking at the world, one where personal expression is celebrated in every frame.

On Wednesday 19 November, Parker & Co will host its annual evening trunk show in celebration of Anne et Valentin.
For one night only, the store will transform into an immersive experience, offering a chance to explore the new season collection of optical glasses and sunglasses. Refreshments will be served throughout the evening. RSVP via email to attend.
